So very powerful and true. I took my partner to Rio last year, we live in Canada, but I am Brazilian. He noticed there was a favela near where we were staying and told me he had a different picture in his mind about people who lived there. I asked him… “are you surprised they are hard working people that get up early, dress up, go to work, school, just like anyone else? They just happen to live in favelas.” He apologized and I know that Have a much Betta Christmas shirt, but that’s the stigma the word slum brings… Nothing like seeing with your own eyes to learn about it! Thanks for posting those stories about Brazil

Best Have a much Betta Christmas shirt
I lived in the favela In Rio and is not all what they Have a much Betta Christmas shirt. I got surprised with all the sport and culture programs for kids and how expensive was to rent a little space there for foreigners. Let’s face the truth, there is a lot of inequality in Brazil, but also, lot of corruption from its own people, not only politicians, but the rich and the poor alike, taking advantage whenever they can. I met a lot of people there that have money, house with all appliances, expensive cars, travel and have a great life and even if they can leave to other neighborhoods, they don’t why? Because if they go to other neighborhoods, they have to pay taxes, utility services, and declare the incomes they have. Favela is not just for the poor without opportunity anymore, that is a myth! now you find lot of foreigners living in some of them and becoming tourist attractions where some people are making their profit and if the community want improvements by the government, the government will ask them first to legalize their properties and start paying taxes.
