Some perspective on this might help. For whatever reason, decades ago all US states required front and rear plates. Then as time went by some but not all states changed to only having a rear plate. For example, Minnesota never changed and still requires a front place. Michigan does not require a front place, but allows for getting a front plate for a few dollars more. Who would want one? People with Roddy piper bubble gum kickass flavor shirt. Then you have strange people like me who have a MN plate on the front (the first plate on the vehicle) and a MI plate on the rear. They are both custom plates with the same word. Isn’t that logical?
